Introductory

     Adarah is a novel I began working on earlier this year. It's about a young Jewish girl living in the time period of approximately 1070 B.C. Her father is one of the town elders and highly respected, her mother is the epitome of beauty and grace. Adarah struggles to live up to her family's expectations and high standards but instead ends up expecting a child before her betrothal to Kish of Gibeah. However, Kish is not the father of the child.
In her simple, naive youth, Adarah falls in love with her childhood friend Adonijah and carries his seed in her womb. With her wedding growing closer and her child growing inside of her, Adarah has to think and plan a way around her predicament. What would befall her if her family and Kish found out that she was not a virgin and and that she was carrying the child of a mere commoner? She could be beaten and sent away, or even worse...killed.
